While teaching little ones how to use tools and work with wood, it was made evident how much of a need there is for exposure to woodworking to those who can make it a part of the daily learning in the classroom. Being asked to share my "expertise" in this area to other preschool teachers is an honor that I do not take lightly. Getting the chance to share the methods that I have found to be successful is a source of pride. Handing children tools is not widely accepted in all schools. Those who see its value and are brave enough to take on the challenge see amazing results. Children who typically have a difficult time with traditional classroom learning will often have success when given the opportunity to learn through woodworking.
